Easy Victor
Alex Jackson
April 29 - June 3, 2023
Alex Jackson's solo exhibition Easy Victor marks the artists first “Peripheral Project” in which he steps outside of the narrative universe at the center of his practice. After a year filled with travel and an increased encounter with procedural infographics around the pandemic, Easy Victor examines official and instructional documents associated with air travel, taking interest in their failed attempts at a universal language, coercive nationalism, and ambiguous depictions of safety and danger. Taking the imprisonment of mythological Greek inventor Daedalus as a departure point, the documents here become the fabricated productions of a fictitious airline, Daedalus Airways.
